Of course this wedding tugs a bit more at my heart strings than usual, because I truly look at this couple like a brother and sister. It all started when Chris's brother Alex proposed to Joelle at the top of White Face mountain in February of 2016 and we were all there to witness it. They then they decided on Whiteface Lodge for their stunning mountain venue where we often spend our late nights during Winter Carnival every year and it felt like fate and like home to be there. While it was definitely a different setting than I'm used to coming from Cape Cod, it felt natural being back in upstate New York and capturing the sort of backdrops I always saw growing up.
We arrived on Wednesday for a weekend that was filled with so much love, laughter and togetherness that I found myself tearing up as we left and realized it was all over. Joelle and Alex bring together the most loving bunch of people I have ever met, and I am so honored that they've welcomed me in with open arms as well. Joelle and her mother took EVERY detail into consideration as they planned from flowers everywhere to s'mores while everyone chatted around a fire until 2am. It was truly an honor to witness and capture Alex and Joelle finally tying the the knot after eight years together. Congratulations you two, no one deserves happiness more.
