I'm not sure where to begin with this one. These two are so near and dear to my heart, I may have agonized over this shoot a bit more than usual. Alex is Chris's brother and best friend (along side his other brother, Taylor of course!), so when he asked me to take pictures of him proposing to Joelle on the top of Whiteface Mountain, I was honored/nervous/excited all in one big bundle. Later that day, Joelle asked if I could be their wedding photographer and I was nearly in tears at the prospect of being there for them in this special way. They are warm, loving and ready to have fun at a moments notice and I just knew this would be incredible.
When it came time for their engagement session, I knew they were going to rock it when I'd get constant texts with new prop and location ideas. We started the day in Alex's BACK YARD (It was unbelievable and so gorgeous) with a campfire and some coffee and then hopped over to Highland Forest for sunset in the trees. Of course I've known the story, but Alex and Joelle met playing soccer at Paul Smith's where they attended undergrad and it was love at first sight for Alex. His teammates can attest to him jokingly (but probably half seriously) whispering "I love you" when he'd see her playing before they actually met. Doesn't this story just make you so excited to see the pictures?? I know I'm that excited to share them!!
Needless to say I am beyond happy for you both and I can't wait to be there for you as a friend and as your photographer at Whiteface Lodge in September next year!
