It is officially ONE MONTH until we walk down the aisle! I thought it be nice to celebrate by FINALLY sharing our engagement photos as well as officially announce who our photographer is! This was quite the three day adventure on Martha's Vineyard, but it was necessary to recreate our first big date where we fell in love.
First a little description of the day. On August 16th, 2014 (yes we are getting married exactly four years and two days later), I fell head over heels in love with Chris. Unbenounced to me until he proposed... Chris had fallen in love with me that day too. It all started when he asked me to come visit him on the cape, my response was "Absolutely, but can we do something fun like jet ski?" Chris jumped at the question and suggested we take a day trip to Martha's Vineyard. I had never been and I was immediately sold.
We started the day in Oak Bluffs where we had a Dirty Banana at Nancy's. This is quite the drink if you have never been! It is the perfect way to feel like you're on an island. Although we didn't recreate jet skiing below, we next went on a jet ski and I told Chris is was my turn to drive! After that, we rented a moped and drove it all the way around the island. Our first stop was Jaws Bridge where we jumped off as so many do (I think we did it twice that day!). Then we changed and made our way to Edgartown and did some shopping in their beautiful streets. After that, we jumped on the moped and drove alllll the way to Menemsha where we watched what is coveted the most beautiful sunset in the world... all with some seafood along the way. I remember squeezing Chris while on the back of the moped and knowing this was right. I had found him and I was completely smitten from that day forward.
One of the first questions I am now asked when someone realizes I'm a wedding photographer AND getting married is, "Wait! But who do you trust to photograph YOUR wedding?!" The truth is, I knew back when I first got into this crazy world of wedding photography. Jessa and I went to college together and about 4 years ago a mutual friend reminded me of her and I realized it's possible to pursue my dreams and make this little business a reality. Jessa changed my life and she didn’t even know it so it didn’t feel right to have anyone else. I also was immediately drawn to how she had light and airy photos but didn't "blow them out" and lose detail just to follow a photography trend. Since I am technically trained in photography, this was/is very important to me. I also felt like I identify with her other brides and their/her attention to detail, so I KNEW Jessa would capture all of our details too. After our engagement session, I know she & Keri will blend seamlessly and be the perfect fit into our wedding day.
