I had the opportunity to hang out with Julia Cumes again and I could not have been happier about it! As before, I stuck mostly with the groom, and as before, I love this wedding too much not to share. At worst, this may help some of my MJP couples with details and planning! I spent most of my day with John and he was pretty darn hilarious. Trude and John are both from NYC and were excited to have their wedding weekend in Chatham where Trude summered growing up. Instead of going to Chatham Bars Inn, they propped up a tent in their back yard and had a wedding fit for kings and queens. Two hundred guests seemed like nothing in this vast tented wedding!
If this picture doesn't show what I mean by "John was hilarious" I don't know what will. This guy had the best belly laugh I've ever seen and was so excited to marry the girl of his dreams.
And then I met Trude after their first look, and it all made sense...The wedding ceremony was held down on their shared dock, complete with a just married get away boat.
Guest were greeted on this hot day with a choice of ice tea, lemonade and water. I did see a few Arnold Palmer's snuck in there!
The bride and groom were serenaded by an acapella group! They even danced with them for one of their songs!
Did I mention a get away speed boat?
Guests then head back up the path for a cocktail hour just outside the tent. Again, amazing wedding details and the tables overlooked the ocean.
The reception was complete with a wedding band who played calm jazz during dinner and popular songs for later in the evening. Each table was topped with a nod to a place in Chatham, including the Chatham Bars Inn, The Loop and The Squire to name a few.
Guests were asked to sign in on a gorgeous wooden puzzle of Cape Cod, with Trude and John's name on the heart of Chatham.
